A Historic Hotel on world famous Ocean Drive

An Art Deco Gem

Do you know the story behind the Penguin Hotel in South Beach, Miami? Well, it all began in 1948. Designed by Henry Hohauser as a shining example of the late 1940′s art deco style, the Penguin Hotel features “horizontality” as a prominent element throughout the structure, with overhanging strip windows and a horizontal railing located on the front facade. The original name of the building was The Golden Dawn Hotel before it was changed to the Penguin Hotel and was and still is one of the most beloved fixtures among Ocean Drive, Miami hotels.

In 2006, all 43 rooms of our beachfront hotel were fully renovated and refurbished by a French designer, adding unique, modern design elements to this historic choice among South Beach, Miami, FL hotels.
